Roofs in Petaling Jaya: What to Know

In Petaling Jaya, many terrace owners find water coming in at the same spot: the joint where the original roof meets an extended kitchen roof. A slow drip there eventually damages ceiling boards and light wiring. Take a photo of the roof from outside and the ceiling from inside, then send both on WhatsApp for an initial estimate.

Petaling Jaya is one of the Klang Valley's earliest satellite towns, so many of its terraces and bungalows are older homes with clay or concrete tile roofs. Plenty of owners have added kitchen or porch extensions with zinc or flat concrete roofs, and the joint between new and old is the most common leak point.
