Roofs in Setiu: What to Know

Most homes in Setiu are kampung houses that have stood for many years, and their zinc roofs often start leaking at the overlaps and ridge once the monsoon arrives. If you have buckets catching water indoors, it is time for a check. Send photos of the roof and ceiling on WhatsApp and we will give you an initial estimate.

Setiu is a coastal district between Besut and Kuala Terengganu, known for its wetlands and lagoon, with many villages and timber houses on stilts. High humidity, sea air and monsoon rain from November to January speed up rust on zinc and rot in timber trusses.
